Hungarian polyglot’s brilliant take on grammar (that we live by)

Hungarian polyglot’s brilliant take on grammar (that we live by)

Here is my (Barbi) absolute favorite quote about learning grammar, from famous Hungarian polyglot, Kató Lomb. Let it sink in for a moment:

"We learn grammar from the language, not the language from grammar."

☝🏼 Learning Hungarian grammar is not about memorizing dry grammar rules.

☝🏼 It’s not about reciting conjugation charts day and night.

☝🏼 It’s not about completing endless gap-filling tasks in your grammar books.

Sure, those might help some learners at some point — but they shouldn’t be the core of your grammar learning.

Learning grammar is about being exposed to the language, noticing patterns, using the language — and letting grammar click through real-life examples that you hear, read, write and say.

That’s one of the key principles behind our Daily Dose of Hungarian program. We help you learn grammar from the language — with daily dialogues, questions, and real-life examples that make the rules come alive.
